BIOGRAPHY

Harry K. Bender graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1966 and from the University of Miami School of Law with a Juris Doctorate degree in 1969. After graduation he served in the United States Army from 1969 through 1974 as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General Corps. After admission to The Florida Bar in 1975 he was employed by the downtown Miami firm of Nicholson, Howard, Brawner and Lovett until he and the senior partner of such firm, Don Nicholson, and James Chandler formed Nicholson, Bender & Chandler, such firm being the precursor to the establishment in 1981 of Bender, Bender & Chandler, PA with offices in Coral Gables, Florida. In 1996 Bender, Bender & Chandler, PA opened a branch office in Sarasota where Mr. Chandler became the resident partner which office, although now physically located in Palmetto, Florida, serves the entire southwest Florida area with particular emphasis on Palmetto/Bradenton/Sarasota. Harry Bender, as are all members of the firm, is an “AV” rated attorney by Martindale Hubbell. His principal areas of practice include commercial and business transactions and litigation with specific emphasis on real estate and corporate related matters. In addition to being a member of The Florida Bar since 1970, he is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, United States Court of Military Appeal and the United States Supreme Court. Harry Bender was born in Wilmington, North Carolina where his father was stationed in the military during World War II but grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania until graduation from high school. He is married to the former April Renee Stark of Coral Gables, Florida and has an extended family of two children and two grandchildren. He and his family enjoy fishing, scuba diving, golf, traveling and cooking.
